Need help getting started

I've got a vista laptop that I need to dual-boot with OSX and I have no idea where to start. I read the "Help I'm a Noob!" posts and feel like I'm a step down from a noob as a good chunk of the stuff in the noob thread seems over my head.

 

I'm really hoping someone will be able to help me.

 

I've gathered as much info on my machine as I could given my limited understanding of what's needed.

It's an ASUS L50Vn with a Intel Core2 Duo T9400 and an nVidia GeForce 9650M GT. I wasn't able to find any of these in the hardware list and I'm not sure what to look for to see if I can do this. I downloaded CPU-Z but I don't really know what I'm looking at.
