oros
hi all, i am a first time OS X user and have never installed OS X on a MAC or a PC so i dont really know where to begin!? i have built a DAW for music production with the following hardware: Intel QX9450 Intel D975XBX2 "bad axe II" Kingston 2GB 800MHz DDR2ECC (x2) Nvidia 7900GTX Seagate ST3250820SCE 250gB Sata 7200RPM (x3) Pioneer DVR-115DBK 20x DVD writer CoolerMaster Real Power Pro RS-750-ACAA-A1700w PSU I will be running Steinberg Cubase 5 as my DAW software and a bunch of other software & hardware that support Core Audio. I could go down the Windows path but OS X is going to offer better stability and support for me. what i would like to know is do i simply buy a retail off the shelf copy of OS X 10.4.x Tiger.....pop it in my DVD drive and install or do i need to do something else? i do not want to use Leopard as some of the software i use is not supported or stable with 10.5, so ill stick with Tiger for now. once i have installed the retail version of 10.4.4 that i have will i be able to use apple update as per normal to install the updates that have been released since then? if i have purchased a retail version of Tiger....is what i am doing by installing it on my hardware illegal? thanks in advance and sorry for the noob questions! cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/163275-help-the-noob-please/ Share on other sites
