pixelbot
Ok. So I have bought a Dell Mini 9 because it's easiest to hackintosh. However I have had nothing but a huge headache when following any tutorials trying to install it because simply... they don't work for me. So... I have a retail leopard 10.5.6 and an external DVD! Apparently these items are ment to make life simple... they dont. I put boot 123 cd in the external usb. open and swap for leopard retail.... nothing happens. The drive stops spinning and it just sits there doing nothing. So I figured it might be my external DVD drive so i create a boot disk using the leopard retail disk image on an 8gb usb key. Again I use boot 123 cd and then boot the usb key.. HEY! i get a grey screen with a very slow apple spinning color wheel and nothing happens again. So then I install chameleon on the usb key with OSX retail... same thing... Wierd thing is it accepts kalyway leopard 10.5.2! and installs first time! however ive been told its buggy. the wifi doesnt work and if i try and install the dell efi it crashes and doesnt boot again. Id really like to get this done cause its making me crazy... any ideas guys? Update* The original USB restore image I made was directly from the OSX 10.5.6 retail dvd. I instead made an image of this on my mac and then made a restore usb from that. I then installed the latest chameleon mini 9 bootloader on the usb and hey presto... things seem to be working! YAY! *crosses fingers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/163220-dell-mini-9-not-booting-osx/ Share on other sites
