timtimtimtim
Hi guys, i try to install Leopard 10.5.5 (orignial DVD) on my DELL Latitude 6500 since weeks. I almost tried every BOOT CD, I have built my own Boot CD with a lot of KNEXTs, I tried these Boot CDs in the vmServer, in a VirtualBox, I tried to boot from the image, from DVD. I always get the screen: "You need to restart your computer, Hold down...." after I have seen the Apple Logo for a sec. I have read a lot of post here and in the internet, I also changed serveral settings in the bios. Please, help me, I really don't know what to do know??? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/163177-dell-latitude-e6500-mac-os-x-1055/ Share on other sites

It replied with your quote but not my text. Anyway, go into the BIOS and change the SATA function to AHCI from the default IRRT and that should work. I use iPC 10.5.6 and I have the usual issues like the following (which I would LOVE to have help on -hint-hint-) Built in Bluetooth doesn't work Built in wifi had to be switched out with one that works with OSX Touchpad freaks out so you have to either use external or use the pointing stick Shutdown and Restart work like the old AT style computers where the OS will shut down but then you have to manually shut the power off with the power button. I've tried the Shutdown/Restart Kernel, I've tried the Restart/Shutdown fix but neither work. (I sure would like to get this working -hint-hint-) SD slot won't work even with the SD kext added PCMCIA slot won't work eSATA won't work Docking station doesn't really work I can't get my AT&T 3G card to work (came out of my new Acer Aspire One and won't work there either) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/163177-dell-latitude-e6500-mac-os-x-1055/#findComment-1170460 Share on other sites
