Semi-Success on Vostro 1000 Leopard 10.5.6, still need help

Hello, I installed 10.5.6 using the new ipc 10.5.6 disk. After three days of messing with it I figured it out:

1)Press F8 during initial disk install and type: idlehalt=0 that will get the disk to load so you can install.

2)Choose the MBR option for drive with mac extended journaled.

3)install with the following options: voodo 9.5, VIA/SiS/Marvell/SB Chipset Drivers, PS/2 Device Support

then install. That will give you a working mac.

 

What I don't have working is the CD/DVD drive, it is not recognized. Any ideas from anyone?

 

Also the sound doesn't work. I followed another post about using stac92000 and applehdapatcher but the sound is horribly crackling. Any help or ideas?
