Still waiting for root device during install

Hi I'm a little new at this osx86 thing, but not at computers. i have looked everywhere but i can not seem to find an answer. i botted the dvd with -v to see the problems if there were any and sure enough it gets stuck when looking for the applenforceATA, it says that 0 units found and then it stops and says still waiting for root devices.

 

DVD: ideneb v1.4 10.5.6

 

System Specs:

M2N-E

AMD X2 3800+ 2.0GHz

2 Gbs of corsair xms2 800mhz ddr2

ive tried both an IDE dvd writer and a SATA dvd writer

Western digital 160gb SATA hdd

 

please any help would be much appreciated as after this install is done on my sisters computer i am going to do it on mine as well, and probably my girlfriends and we all have asus motherboards around the same specs. thank you all very much.
