PowerMacG4
When I'm booting from the DVD, the loading stops and I get this error: ERROR: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure. And it never really moves on from there. Just in case it helps, this is what my PC has: Asus P5Q/P45 chipset Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz Nvidia Ge Force 9500 GT video card
Beerkex'd
Is your DVD drive S-ATA or P-ATA?

Beerkex'd
Set SATA to AHCI mode in the BIOS. Make sure the DVD drive is plugged into one of the red plugs (ICH10) on the motherboard. Check your BIOS settings: http://apple2pc.blogspot.com/2008/03/bios-...hackintosh.html The firewire security error is not important, it shows on fully working systems. Mine too. It's probably freezing before it can display the next message.
PowerMacG4
I can't, I don't have the right chipset for that.
Beerkex'd
Yes. Yes you do. Your P5Q motherboard has the P45 chipset which has the Intel ICH10 controller. The six red plugs on your motherboard are connected to it. Don't use the orange or the white plug.
PowerMacG4
Ok, I look where it was plugged in, and looked in the BIOS, and I don't have the option to do that.
Beerkex'd
Alright. Whatever you say. I give up. This is a picture of a page in the manual for your motherboard. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.
