ragnar
Other than the fact that I had to plug in a ps2 keyboard and a mouse because the install didn't seem to recognize any of my USB devices, the install itself was almost flawless. However, when it was completed it never actually restarted, it just sat there spinning for half an hour. When I manually restarted and OSX began to boot tons of text began to flash across the screen very quickly (too fast to read) until finally I got to a solid black screen, which lasted for a minute of two, before my computer automatically restarted. I tried copying over the installer's kernel to see if that would help as mentioned in Complete MacOS X86 10.4.6 Installation guide, but unfortunately ran across the exact same problems. I've previously had success installing OSX 10.4.1 using the method from Install On A Partition Simple And Accurate, which also recognized all of my USB devices. Does anyone have any idea of whats going on, or how I might get this to work? Or has anyone released a DD image of a working 10.4.6? I really find the technique of DD'ing an image over to the drive to be the quickest and easiest form of installation. ragnar
Nevermind, I got it to work. All I had to do was expand the last item in the package selection screen and deselect some unnecessary patches.
