pogo park
Hey friends, I'm relatively new to OSX, and I was hoping that y'all might be able to give me some advice about a few processes that are running on my computer that are marked as "PowerPC" in the Activity Monitor. First, Norton Anti-Virus came preinstalled on the Powerbook G4 that I transferred settings from when I got the MBP, and I can't get it off. The Uninstaller doesn't work; neither does auto-update. Here are the apps running related to NAV. I don't know how to tactfully uninstall this; maybe it's as simple as finding the files and deleting them, or maybe not. Please advise: ScanNotification SymSecondaryLaunch Then, there's two Microsoft Apps that are related to an old version of Intellimouse. I've updated to 6.0, but these programs are still running: Microsoft AU Daemon Microsoft Keyboard Helper again, any uninstallation advice? finally, there's a program called only translate and I'm not sure what that is. Any help y'all can offer would be much appreciated. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16242-help-a-n00b-de-rosetta-his-macbook-pro/ Share on other sites
munky
for tricksy things which wont uninstall you could try something like these: http://www.allume.com/mac/springcleaning/ or http://mac.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilit...installer.shtml also, translate *is* rosetta (part of it at least). you dont want to remove that, in case you come across some osx app you really need which is ppc only. hth - munky Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16242-help-a-n00b-de-rosetta-his-macbook-pro/#findComment-104442 Share on other sites
