Salutations and hello, so this is the first time I've attempted to install OSX86 on any machine of mine--partially because I've been so used to M s {censored}, and partially because I've just never gotten around to it.

First off, I'd like to mention that at no time during the process of attempting to install OSX86 did I ever change, add, or manipulate any of the files or folders on any of the .iso's.

I grabbed up the latest iPC, 10.5.6 Universal, dropped it on a disc with MagicISO, and rebooted my compy. Now, I've got everything set up so it'll boot off the DVD; no problem, it boots to "Press any key to continue or F8 for more options" screen. I hit a key and the DVD hums a loud tune. Nothing's going on with the actual computer. I leave it alone for five minutes, come back, still no change, other than now, the DVD has quit being read. I power off and retry.

This time, I F8 and -v. It conks out trying to load the first plist. Reboot, try again, F8 and ?. Woops, no advanced options/help. I boot to Vista.

Kalyway 10.5.2 next. At the "Press any key" I do so. Ten seconds later, my computer reboots. Okay, that's new. Let's try that with -v. Same thing. -x loads everything, but at the end of the load, it reboots. speedstepkernel -v reboots, and it does the same when I redo it with -x. Heck, I try -s and -F on them, too! Nothing, nada, zero, zilch.

Frustrated? Yes. Completely confused? Totally.

iDeneb v1.4! This joker is emulating what the Kalyway disc did!

So yeah, after trying three different distros, getting roughly the same result, I'm coming here to ask for some help.

Specs:

Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX laptop

Processor: Athlon X2 QL-62 "Griffin" (SSE, SSE2, SSE3)

Mobo: Wistron 303C

Chipset: NVidia GeForce 8200M

The only thing I can think that could be causing me this headache is the mobo chipset, but I don't think it would do this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
