btb42693
Ok, so I looked at the OSx83 wiki page, and I could see that SOME of my hardware was listed...a couple similar articles on a couple similar models were listed with success, but I did not see my model. Does this mean that the iPC DVD software won't install on my computer? element291
iAktos 1.5 was a huge fail. Does have the driver for the cpu so doesnt even get past 1st boot screen. I tried this method http://f60s.com/forums/t/356174.aspx as well. Total fail during boot for the 1-2-3 discs as well. Nic Vel
Hi! I have been able to install iPC 10.5.6 and Lea4All 4.1 in my HP DV5 1022LA with some issues. My hardware is similar to yours. My chipset is HP 30F2, my Audio IDT High Definition and my ethernet card is a Realtek RTL8102E. I´ve employed the Voodoo kernel, the PS/2 mouse fix (or it won´t detect the touchpad) and selected all but the Intel Chipset´s kexts. I know this is not adviced by Lea4all and iPC, but that is the way i did it. At first boot i flagged the -F command. The OS runs fast and smooth, although audio and airport do not work. I have met partial success with audio following this thread, http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=152348 , but its shaky at best. No luck so far with the Atheros Wifi card. Good luck! btb42693
So as of being busy for a while, I decided to come back to working on installing OSX on my computer. I haven't been successful with ANY of the distros including: iAtkos, iDeneb, leo4all v3, iPC, or kalyway. I don't know if it has to do with my configuration or what, but after trying to install on 3 different computers (all HP AMD processors...however, all the distros were meant to install on AMD machines. Maybe it's HP's problem), HP pavilion dv5-1002nr, HP pavilion dv8315nr, and HP Pavilion Elite m9402f desktop. I also tried it on HP Pavilion a720n, but got different results. I want to install it on the dv5-1002nr laptop because that is mine. The rest are my family's computers, which i don't want to ruin. I tried all the distros on the dv5-1002nr all with around the same results: "Still waiting for root device". It was able to get to the Apple "loading" screen on most of the distros, but after waiting a while, the dreaded little cross sign shows up. I know it has to do with the BIOS configuration, but as HP LOVES to limit the BIOS settings, I can't change my SATA settings or anything without a cracked BIOS. And I don't want to mess with that. If there's any guide that works with this computer model or anything close to it, I would be so happy if you could provide me with a link or ANYTHING, I am so desperate to install mac on my PC. I got the same problem on the HP Pavilion Elite m9402f, but on some of the disks, it just restarted without even displaying darwin. On the Pavilion dv8315nr, I kept getting a message that some Apple .plist or whatever file was missing on the disks, so it wouldn't let me go into darwin either. The Pavilion a720n was a different story. It displayed the Apple loading screen and started loading until I got a Kernel Panic. That's the only computer that got a kernel panic on. I haven't bothered to investigate it, but that computer is also my computer, so I can use that to install on if I wanted to. I also have a little HTC Shift x9500... I have heard a lot about people loading Mac OSX on there with no poblem, but nobody has bothered to provide me with a way to do so (and I can't find any way to do it myself), as there is no CD/DVD drive in the computer. However, it has an Intel processor and chipset (that is able to run OSX with no problem). If ANYBODY has a solution to installing OSX on ANY of those computers, or has done so already, please feel free to tell of your experience. I prefer a SUCCESS story, but I want ANY story anybody has.
