Guest RevisionZero
Hey guys, I currently running into a problem, every time I install Mac OS 10.5.5 during boot after the instalation I get a "Waiting on root device" message. I have tried numerous combinations of drivers and kernels(even though I want the vanilla kernel). I have tried also installed with IPC 10.5.5, IAtkos 5i 10.5.5 and even with IDeneb 10.5.5. Nothing works. I have even gone and ran the "boot-uid=xxxyyy" as a boot option to select the proper drive, and nothing. I would really like to get leopard installed but im running out of options. Awhile ago I remember a fix involving removing ram due to some limit on first boot, and even removing overclocking and also a one core command on boot. But at this point I dont think thats the problem, due to my type of error. System Information -Core 2 Duo 2.6GHz -4gb DDR2 800MHz -nVidia 8800gt 512mb -Asus P5E Motherboard -Seagate 1TB HDD SATA Any other information I would be glad to get anyone, so if you can offer any help it would be much appreciated =). VaalHala
Sounds like you don't have the right chipset driver. I had the same problem, I had to go through and reinstall OSX, several times each time choosing a different chipset driver until OSX booted. I used iPC 10.5.6, Voodo Kernel. Guest RevisionZero
Thanks for the replies, the AHCI Mode for the SATA configuration really helped got past the "Waiting for Root Device" error.
