I seem to be experiencing the Dual Core Timing Issue. It seems to happen at random. I have iDeneb 1.4 installed.

Installed with the following kexts during Installation: AppleAzaliaAudio, AppleNForceATA, Kernel 9.5.0 Voodoo, Broadcom, Seatbealt Fix, AppleSMBIOS 800, NVdarwin 512MB.

I've tried booting cpus=1 that doesn't help

Any help would be appreciated!

Read the Voodoo Kernel manual, especially page 5.

Install Chameleon 2.0, delete AppleSMBIOS800 and use smbios.plist in /extra instead.

Also make sure your AppleNforceATA is patched for use with 4GB RAM since that's what you have.

I read the Voodoo Kernel User Documentation pdf page 5. But there didn't seem to be anything on my problem.

Where is this extra folder? EDIT: found it duh....

delete AppleSMBIOS800 and use smbios.plist in /extra instead.

Where is this AppleSMBIOS800? it's not in the extensions folder.

EDIT: Couldn't find the AppleSMBIOS800. And I put the AppleSMBIOS from my extensions folder into the extra folder along with the smbios.plist.

No..

Don't put the AppleSMBIOS.kext in the extra/extensions folder! That's contrary to the whole idea of smbios.plist, which is to inject the proper values for your hardware while using a vanilla AppleSMBIOS.kext in its default location.

So make sure that your System/Library/Extensions folder has an original AppleSMBIOS.kext from the version of Leopard that you're running and that there are no SMBIOS injectors present in the folder (AppleSMBIOSEFI.kext, AppleSMBIOSEnabler.kext etc etc).

You can find vanilla AppleSMBIOS.kext in an Apple Update that matches your system version and then extract it with Pacifist. Then install it with kexthelper or OSXTools. Or *gasp* you can use the terminal. Don't forget to repair permissions and clear the extensions cache before rebooting.

Ahh okay. I'm just learning as I go along...

So from the Mac OS X 10.5.6 Update?

Alrighty then.

Installed Chameleon 2.0. Created a smbios.plist and placed it in the extra folder with the code provided in the link you posted. Restarted.

Then I installed the AppleNforceATA that is patched for use with 4GB RAM.

I installed the AppleSMBIOS.kext with OSX86 Tools that I extracted from the MacOSXUpd10.5.6.dmg with Pacifist.

OSxTools wouldn't let me go back. The only option was to restart or cancel. Rebooted.

Repaired Permissions and Cleared Extensions Cache.

Just one last thing. About This Mac shows a intel Core Duo. But More info shows my AMD CPU.

I see from the smbios.plist I can edit some of the values. Can About This Mac be modified by the smbois.plist or do programs need to see intel to run correctly?

So that should fix my problem eh?

Thanks for the help Beerkex'd really appreciate it!

I'm not sure exactly what you did but I feel I should probably make it clear that you can't just use the smbios.plist as I provided it.

You have to edit all the <string>s and provide the correct information there.

Use google or the forum search to find this information.

For example if you want your hackintosh to be a Mac Pro, search for the DMI data for a Mac Pro.

Here's some of the information for many types of modern Macs but as you can see all fields are not accounted for, and some Mac models are missing.

Your CPU and Memory frequency info must be accurate as well. You can use CPU-Z under Windows to see this data, or look up some of it in your BIOS, in the datasheets for your memory modules at the manufacturer's website, and at AMD's website...get googling..

The Core CPU in 'About This Mac' is something that the Voodoo Kernel inserts there for better compatibility. My Pentium 4 is listed as 'Core 2 Solo'.

If you had read the Voodoo Kernel .pdf manual you would have known this already.

The 'cancel' button in OSX86Tools doesn't actually undo the installation of the kext.

I guess you are supposed to read it as 'cancel the reboot', but that's not really obvious.

Well I tried to boot into OSX so finish the smbios.plist but I left a dvd in my sata drive which doesn't work with the patched AppleNforceATA. and I got a black screen. So I rebooted and now I get the mouse bug again.

Don't know if it's because I didn't finish editing the smbios.plist or what.

But I'm frankly tired of trying to get this to work. If I'm right I won't have these problems if I buy a intel proc and mobo so that's just what I'm going to do.
