Pa-Oel
Hi everybody, I searched this forum several times and read a lot topics, but i'm not able to fix my problem. My computer is a laptop: # NEC Versa P550 # Intel Centrino mobiele technologie # Intel Pentium M 750 processor (1.86 Ghz, 2 MB cache, 533 Mhz FSB) # Intel 915PM chipset (Sonoma) # 1024 MB (2*512 MB) intern geheugen # 80 GB harddisk, 5400 rpm # DVD-RW (Dual layer DVD brander) # 15" SXGA TFT monitor, resolutie 1400x1050 # ATI Mobility Radeon X300 grafische kaart, 64 Mb dedicated memory (Hyper Memory) I have windows installed on my C drive and I use my D drive for data. I made up 10Gb free space using partionmagic in cmd i used diskpart to create an extra AF partition insterted my OSX dvd (MaC.OsX.10.4.5.Universal.Install.DVD(INTEL:AMD:SSE3:SSE2)) Then I see a white screen with the apple logo, but that's all (the screen freezes) Also the little round loading thing isn't appearing. What can be the problem?? The dvd works, a friend of mine with a IBM thinkpad (also an Pentium M) installed OSx succesful Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16175-problems-with-installing-os-x/ Share on other sites

Pa-Oel
Okay did that, but there isn't any error message appearing (strange?) he stopped by these sentences: AppleIntelPIIxPATA:Secondary PCI IDE channel disabled Display: family specific matching fails AppleIntelPIIxPATA:ICH6 ATA/100(cmd 0x1F0 CTR 0x3F4, IRQ14, BM 0x48c0) This happens almost immidiatly! If this information is not enough I'm going to try to make a photo of it.. (at this moment not possible, unfortunally) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16175-problems-with-installing-os-x/#findComment-104358 Share on other sites
mathz
hmmm.. I've read some problems that really sound the same. It seems to me that the thinkpads (mine R51 included) have some problems while installing OSx and get stuck due to the same problem.. To avoid this people experienced that installing through VMware goes well and you also can delete some preloading modules from setup files.. Has anybody fixed this prob on his thinkpad? matthew Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16175-problems-with-installing-os-x/#findComment-273939 Share on other sites
