530sCheapMac
I dont get it.... what is the actual problem here? You said "128gb problem" and then "I have got 320gb....", so what hard drive DO you have? I am more lost than after an episode of Lost. miliuco
Have you tried to set SATA Native Mode to Enable in the BIOS? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/161566-128gb-problem-just-look/#findComment-1138012 Share on other sites
thorazine74
Assuming that what you are saying is that you dont the get the whole 320 Gb capacity of the disk recognized but only 128 Gb... ...the problem is related to 48-bit LBA addressing, google about 128/137 Gb Hard Disk Barrier and read about the issue, essentially you need an ATA controller BIOS that supports drives larger than 128/137 Gb and a driver (kext) too, I assume current Apple kexts support that but I've never used an IDE drive so large. Maybe the generic ATA kext doesnt support that after all, try finding out if your 6300ESB is included in ApplePIIXATA or try using AHCI mode if available, in any case you need to find out the controller's device id using lspci -nn command from PCI Utils.
