Hello, I'm new to these forums.

I'm about to install 10.5.2 Kalyway so I'm checking every possible problem before I install.

Old Stuff:

According to this guide -> http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...DualBoot_10.5.2

NOTE: DUAL BOOTING - For people installing on Western Digital HDDs. There is no need to set HDD to MASTER if you're using only 1 HDD. No jumper is required to set to Master. If you do have the jumper set to MASTER after installation and on reboot and if you use GParted to set active boot partition back to Windows, you will get INVALID/NON SYSTEM DISK. This is a quirk with Western Digital drives.

I'm actually installing with 2 hdd's and I'm installing to my secondary drive that I never boot to.

I have it set to cable select but I read somewhere around here that cable select won't work.

If I have to use something other than cable select what should I do?

Should I take my main hdd out and use no jumpers on my secondary?

Should I set my secondary to master and my main to slave?

Then should I restore it back to normal after install?

Or has this been fixed and can I leave it on cable select?

EDIT: Alright this hasn't presented any problem until I've gotten to the "install to a hard drive" step of the installer. My two hdd's and my recovery hdd are present.

The problem is, my recovery is the only place it will let me install to.

The other two say "You cannot install Mac OS X on this volume. The contents of this volume cannot be changed."

So is this a jumper problem or do I need to format?

If I need to format, are there any specifics that I need to put in?

(btw it won't let me format from the osx86 installer)

EDIT EDIT: Alright, it's amazing how much I over look things. I needed to use the disc utility and I didn't see that on the guide until now. I'm at step 19 now. I'll update this if I run into anymore problems.

Currently:

I've got it added to the windows bootloader and I can boot into darwin but afterwards it showed a grey apple and stayed there. So I was looking for solutions for this and someone said to hit F8 at darwin and type cpus=1. Well it didn't work and now when I boot darwin all it does is restart. I can still hit f8 and have as much time as I need to type commands though. Any clues as what I shoud do?

Btw: This might have been brought on by installing vanilla. I think my computer is capable of using vanilla since it's a celeron D.

Was it capable?

Tell me if need anymore specs or info.

Do I have to reinstall the whole thing to get voodoo? (won't take long just wondering)

Is it included on the disc?

Edit: Couldn't find it so I used sleepstep (I believe it's called). Thanks for the help though! It's working great now. The dashboard is a little choppy but I assume that's because I'm using intel integrated graphics. Other than that I'm pleased thanks again.
