konkon
I noticed the following problem with a Gigabyte G31M-ES2L installation of 10.5.6. USB devices will be disconnected in sleep mode & connect again at wake up. So i.e. if you have USB Storage connected to the system, you always get the -You have not ejected a device- warning at wake up. What's up with other Gigabyte G31M-ES2L users? Is there somebody which do have not this problem? Or somebody with a solution? The Gigabyte G31M-ES2L uses a Intel ICH7 Southbridge. (EHCI device ID 0x72cc) With turned off USB 2.0 in Bios, it works, but only with slow 1.1 speed. konkon
I have found a thread, which seems to have a solution for this problem: PCB355 and Intraganzo have noticed, that the USB EHCI device is discovered as PCI device, not as build in. So the apple kext will mark it as not sleepable. In result the device will simply be disabled when go into sleep & enabled on wake up. They have rebuild the driver from source and changed the behavior. So with the patched kext, devices found as PCI, will be marked as sleepable. it works! here is the thread (the right file is in post #14): http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1097648 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/161160-solved-usb-on-gigabyte-g31m-es2l-intel-ich7/#findComment-1129138 Share on other sites
