mmorby
I've searched and my problem seems unique. A little while back my Kalyway 10.5.1 system wouldn't boot. The power/reset buttons on the motherboard would just flash. Long story short, I asked for help on the Asus forums and found out that the 5V standby power rail was shorting. The problem ended up being my new mac keyboard. Whenever I try to boot with it plugged in, I get the same short. It starts up fine when the keyboard is unplugged, and I can then plug in and use the keyboard just fine. The problem is not related to a specific USB port. I have tried them all with the same results. I have also tried another ancient Dell USB keyboard that has no problems. I know that there are known standby/sleep issues with hackintosh systems, but I wasn't sure if this is related. I'm hoping to install retail Leopard soon... Can I reasonably hope that this will fix my problem? Thanks...
