I recently (actually 5 mins. ago) finished downloading the newest iPhone SDK from apple, which requires 10.5.4 or later.

A while ago, I had downloaded the XxX 10.5.6 installer. When I booted it up (well tried to) from the cd (for the install), the screen froze as soon as the verbose mode text appeared, and after a while displayed "Still waiting for root device"

so I decided to wait longer, and nothing happened other than that same line of text kept on repeating.

I had received the same problems on XxX 10.4.11 and kalyway 10.4.10, but actully installed a full version of Kalyway 10.5.2 with no problem. At the time the install of 10.5.6 failed, I decided to keep on using Kalyway. I now kind of need to use a newer version

so the question is:

Is there any option for me (upgrade from inside of a bootable leopard (my 10.5.2 install), change some bios settings, down another installer, or insert some drivers, or something else)?

I have searched for a while to find an answer, having no luck along the way.

Oh, and also is there a suitable sound driver for me as well (the one I found on this site don't won't work)

My hardware:

Asus P5K EPU

Xfx force 8800 gt

Realtek ALC883

(hard drive is external)
