joe mama
I have a HP dc5100 SFF with kalyway 10.5.2. I can ping locally and do file transfers locally but for some reason it will not ping or surf outside my lan. If I plug my laptop into the same connection I can surf fine. If I plug in a USB nic the HP 5100 SFF can surf. Does anyone have any tips to get the internal nic surfing? hecker
Can you ping your DNS server? You can also try manually adding a DNS server IP in your network preferences. Yes I can ping my DNS server. I have 2 networks here and I tried it on both networks with static ip and DNS and with DHCP ip and DNS. Still no luck. Hugo_bee
ueeila can ping but not surf.. it seems to me like i like camping.. not surfing?? ?ahah.. I prefer to live en plein air!! why not using a Caravan? then. there are a 7 level/point of failure in your problem.. it's the OSI ISO levels 1st.. if you have 100% loss it may depend on electrical level.. (like. you, the line, the router you may have, the line between you and the remote gateway) how to test? can you do a reverse ping from othe point to the immediately ip after your point. example: you are intranel lan ip1.. gateway is lan ip2 and public ip3.. could you ping from internet the ip3 ? and be sure that the problem is ONLY inside your home net and not outside? 2nd.. try to bypass every step .. example. using a linux live distro.. put yourself over the router.. and give him the phisical address that your provider is giving to the router.
