Hello all.

I will start by saying i am completely new to all this mac stuff. I was about to reinstall my windows vista computer the other day when a friend decided to persuade me to daul boot vista and leopard.

To do this he showed me a guide: http://dailyapps.net/2008/03/hack-attack-d...-windows-vista/ .

On this guide i get to the step where it says, You should see scrolling text on the screen now. If it stops anywhere then drop a comment and I’ll try to help you out.

Well it didn't stop as such during that step, my computer just reboots at that point and starts it again.

Now i guess you might need my hardware specs so here goes.

Motherboard: asrock conroe 1333-dvi/h

Ram: 2GB kingston

Graphics card: Ati hd 4870, but i have also tried with on-board and it does the same.

The on-board gfx is: Intel gma950.

Harddrive: 500GB Seagate.

No extra cards in.

Please help me get iATKOS installed because I'd love to be converted to a mac.

Also i am using iATKOS 5i and i hope this forum section is the right one.

Thanks,

Mraellis.

Have you tried boot from the iATKOS DVD by press F8 when the DVD starts booting and entering -v cpus=1 at the Darwin boot: prompt......? It is likely you may need a modded BIOS if you can only boot OS X with cpus=1.....see here......

Ok, so i installed it with the cpus=1 thing. What does that mean? Will it just use half my processor but work correctly or what?

I have completely installed it now and noticed that it crashes and doesn't come out of it after about 5 minutes use.

It crashes no matter what I do. It seemed to take a bit longer to crash when I was doing an software update then when I ran safari or ichat.

Could that be because of the cpus=1 thing or is it something else?

Helping me on msn or Skype would be great btw.

I really don't want to mod my bios.

If you can boot into your system using -v -x cpus=1 and run it long enough to generate a DSDT.aml file for your system.....use fassl's DSDT Patcher to create a DSDT.aml file from your system and then use a bootloader with DSDT overide function......using mackerintel's Chameleon with DSDT Override bootloader......or Chameleon 2.0 RC1 (Google is your friend here)......you may resolve your problems......
