Dan Flash
Hi all, thanks in advance to anyone reading... Only recently got my osx86 box up and running (using a Jas 10.4.8 DVD installer) on a pre-historic eMachines e380 [2.2ghz Intel Celeron Processor, NVidia Gefore fx 5200, 60gb HDD, 2gb DDR RAM]. Works like a charm, only had to remove the ATI/NVidia drivers before first boot (without removing them it caused kernel panic). Everything now worked out of the box (audio, ethernet, 1280 x 1024 resolution, Belkin Wireless adapter) except QE/CI. Couple of questions - even though everything works, is very stable, fast, operational, and smooth, I'm wandering how I could upgrade the CPU or Graphics Card (maybe to support QE/CI) so that I could do some more heavy-duty things other than net-browsing and messing about like that. Basically, slightly more specialist stuff like audio software etc. Seeing as OS X is now installed successfully on the HDD, is it just a simple case of buying a new chipset and processor etc and replacing what's already in there? Thanks again to anyone who reads and/or gives a bit of feedback. This forum is excellent. Amen.
