Lanceomni
after installing iPC 10.5.6 with 9.4.0 kernel i endet up with the *.dmg problem to fix it i think i need 9.5 or 9.6 kernel so, can you tell me how to update my kernel - while not beeing able to open a *.dmg? Thank you I just downloaded the latest Voodoo Kernel RC1 9.5.0 from their website (http://code.google.com/p/xnu-dev/) and re-compressed it as a ZIP. Here is the link: http://rapidshare.com/files/218278593/Voodoo.zip Follow the directions included explicitly. You may also want to make a backup of your current kernel. You can do so by opening Terminal and typing: cp -R /mach_kernel /mach_kernel.backup Now if you have problems you can use the boot-flag -v mach_kernel.backup to boot your old kernel If you have problems let me know I can walk you through manually installing it from the command line. balea
yessss!!! far easier. backup all your stuff pop in the dvd new install with iPC choose the voodoo kernel (first one) 9.5 (choose the seatbelt.kext if you have problems opening *.dmg) this worked perfectly. i tried it with the new kernel from you at first i need the efi installing went fine but after updating the kernel it just showd the apple and did not go any further! even after several minutes... so i had to re-install, now everything fine.
