How do you 'tab' through buttons in a dialog box? For example, when I push the power button on my Dell Mini9, a dialog box comes up that has sleep, restart, shutdown, etc options. In KDE I was always able to tab/shift+tab to get to the selection I wanted instead of having to mouse over. Not being able to do this is VERY annoying. Am I missing something?

Thanks!

You have to enable tabbed focus.

Open System Preferences

Open the Keyboard & Mouse preference pane.

Click on the Keyboard Shortcuts tab.

At the bottom of the box, choose the radio button for All Controls.

Thanks for asking, cos I just notice that you can change the setting on-the-fly with Control-F7!!

Personally, I can't stand having the focus change to every control when I'm tabbing between text fields. It's one of the things I've always hated about the Windows interface. Mac users tend to keep one hand on the keyboard and one hand on the mouse, so, switching focus is just sort of something we do automatically with the mouse, but certainly, it's nice to be able to switch this function up on-the-fly!!
