Jacob Was Here
Ok, got a copy of iDeneb, but now it hangs at the first gray screen. 10.5.5 or 10.5.6? Jacob Was Here
Hmm i havn't got 10.5.6 yet. It should work though. I dont see any reason why it shouldn't. Try setting the vm to workstation 6.5 instead of 6.0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/160362-installing-osx-leopard-as-a-virtual-machine/page/2/#findComment-1129642 Share on other sites
Reed Whaley
Same gray screen, its the one before it goes into the actual installer. EDIT: Ok, got into the OS, but instantly got error'd out. Jacob Was Here
Perhaps a faulty install image. Try to get ideneb 10.5.5 if you can. 10.5.6 isn't recomended yet because they havn't fully got all the bugs sorted out yet. Anyone else having problems or success? Please post your results. Reed Whaley
Ok, got a copy of 10.5.5, but it still hangs at the iDeneb boot screen before the installer pops up. Jacob Was Here
Try booting with -v -f. That should force it to start. If that doesn't work get a virtual drive program like daemon tools, mount the ideneb image to that and set vmware to read the daemon drive. Reed Whaley
Same screen as before for both of your suggestions. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/160362-installing-osx-leopard-as-a-virtual-machine/page/2/#findComment-1130319 Share on other sites
Jacob Was Here
Same screen as before for both of your suggestions. Hmm thats strange. I set this up on a friends asus laptop thats pretty much the same as yours and it worked fine. Maybe try actually installing it so you have a dual boot system. All you have to do is shrink your windows partition, install osx to the new partition you made, then download and install the newest release of chameleon boot loader (i think its 2.0 rc1 or something). That will make selecting which os you want to boot really simple because the new chameleon boot loader has a gui interface. Very nice Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/160362-installing-osx-leopard-as-a-virtual-machine/page/2/#findComment-1130340 Share on other sites
