rmb7
Hi, I am wondering how would I go about to have windows xp in a hackintosh? I will be installing Mac back on my pc computer since it works fully with Leopard. What programs would I need to install to make this possible? Or is this impossible to do? I don't want to use windows anymore and I like mac better but I run one(1) program in windows that need the windows cmd. Any reply would be wonderful. rmb7
well I don't think any of those will work because its a java applicatin running in a cmd box. Also I need the jdk which is java development kit. They have it for mac but I can't find anyway to have it work right. Well I will just go ahead and install mac on my second HDD and see if I can get it to work and if I can then I will install it as my main OS. MiTon
Hi there, for a single Windows application I would try WINE, installable over MacPorts. Wine translates the Windows API to Unix command. MacPorts is a port for farious Linux and Unix programms. An other way is the total virtualisation of an Windows Operation System with programms like: - VirtualBox (free!!!!) - VMWare - Parallels where you can install a complete Windows under you Mac System, with no need to restart. Might be the solution with most space consumotion, but Java SDK etc. an nearly any other programm should run and you got the cmd console. hecker
Dude, if it's a Java application, then you don't need any virtualization. You can simply execute the file via the terminal by entering: java <app name here> There is no need to manually install java on OS X.
