I've installed 10.5.6 vanilla and reformatted the EFI partition, everything boot ok from the HD with CPU Disabler Kext cause I am using a Celeron M. But... No audio... I've tried lots of kext but nothing seems to work... At max I've managed to get the sound card in system profile but not in sys preferences... any idea if it's possible to get sound? Thanks guys! noromamai Posted February 7, 2010 Share Posted February 7, 2010 a bit late, but i also have the LV-679 (Commell sucks, don't buy their products) and i managed to get sound out of it. i used the voodoohda.kext on the efi partition (you need to put the kexts it depends on on the efi partition as well, check in the Info.plist and edit all the Info.plist files to include OSBundleRequired=Root), it's not 100% though, not sure the mic works and only one of the 3.5mm outputs. But optical out works and that's the only thing i care about. you need to change the settings in Audio MIDI Setup for the spdif out to make it work.
