hambola
Are you sure your board has AHCI selected. By default the DP45SG has IDE which will give you the still waiting for root device error. Have a nice day. hey, im running an ASUS MoBo, but i had the same problem. i solved this by fiddling with the HDD's IDE or AHCI settings in the bios. For me I had to put my SATA HDD on IDE COMPATIBILITY mode, and turn off the AHCI. Different combinations of this work for different people. I have the DP45SG and the way I got around that error is to use AHCI in the "Configure SATA as" BIOS menu option (under Advanced -> Drive Configuration). By default this board has IDE selected. I used XxX 10.5.6. There's a thread here that gives you options you can select in that install that will get most of your stuff working. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=146119 Try that and report back, good luck. Mine was recognized correctly at DDR3 1333. Certain installations have a kext that you can choose to set the memory speed. Did you try one of those?
