ajw107
Hi I;ve been trying to install OSx86 on my new laptop (both the new iDeneb and iPC versions) without any success. With the iDeneb, I at least get through the installation, but when it reboots it just freezes on the tan screen with the spinning circle mouse cursor, I never usually get this far with iPC. I was wondering if anyone else has has much success with this machine at all? Thank you for any help you can give. Always boot using -v as this will start you up in Verbose mode and display useful information. You can then post about which line it stops at during boot. Basically when the Darwin bootloader comes up it will prompt you to press a key and then you will be able to enter boot options. You may also try the following: -v -v -f -v -x You provided your model number but it is easier for you to look up the rest of your specs once then all of us look it up. Please provide us with some specifications about your system (CPU, Motherboard, Graphics & Model Number if applicable). Adding more specific information allows us to respond quickly with more precise answers. Chipset, LAN, Audio & If your Graphics are integrated or not, are excellent additions. You can also place this information in your "Signature". It will then appear on every post you make. ajw107
Thank you very much for your quick reply. I have tried the -f parameter, but not the others, so I'll defnitley try them when I get home tonight and report back. I've also added as much of my specs info as I could fit into 5 lines, I hope that is okay (and it makes sense). If the specs show up anything blindly obvious to yourselves that an extreme OSx86 newbie, like myself, may miss, could you let me know. I have tried the obvious patched for the nvidia cards (all of them, one at a time), and no luck. Thank you again for all of your help. Welcome to InsanelyMac! pegasys
iatkos v7 also works nicely for the acer 8930g, including voodoo HDA for sound Selected all default selections (main system, chameleon, extra dir, dsdt, apple decrypt, disabler, voodoo hda, post install), also selected - nvinject, sata ahci, voodoo ps2, laptop battery, broadcom wifi, speedstep (I'm sure others can suggest improvements for the selections). After rebooting, had to repair vista bootloader by booting from vista dvd, (couldn't boot into leopard/vista/xp/ubuntu), then booted into vista, opened easybcd, removed Mac OS entery, and re-added it again.
