ArKayDe Posted March 30, 2009 Share Posted March 30, 2009 I've been running iPC 10.5.6 final in safe mode since installation. Without -x I couldn't even install it on my system, I would get to a grey screen with a rotating mouse cursor. I had tried iDeneb before with the same result. In normal mode I get to the blue screen and then the system is simply idle. It know that it doesn't crash because the keyboard is still reacting to caps lock, but the login screen doesn't show. I have tried everything I can to get it to boot in normal mode and haven't found any working solution. I even went so far and moved all unused extensions into a different directory to make sure that they don't interfere. There is nothing in the system log which would hint at any problems either... I have activated kernel debug logging... Mar 30 04:29:04 Rainer configd[14]: setting hostname to "Rainer" I tried deactivating firewire & the onboard sound card in BIOS and that didn't help either. In safe mode the system is running nicely apart from missing QE, sound and full USB support. Is there anything left to try? I am using the HD Radeon drivers from netkas, but I don't think that they are the problem since the system didn't boot before either. I'm running the Voodoo 0.9.5 kernel.
