Freash install of the JaS 10.4.6 My device is the following: Realtek AC'97 Audio 0x70121039 PCI\VEN_1039DEV_7012SUBSYS_B5521019REV_A0 After the install System Profiler said no audio kexts were loaded at all. I then edited the Info.plist for AppleAC97Audio.kext and AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext to reflect the device ID I have of 0x70121039. I then added the kext by "sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext" then "sudo chmod 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext". Then I rebooted and used mode -v -f -x and once the system loaded into safe mode that way I then rebooted back into normal mode. I checked System Profiler to be sure the kexts were loaded, check, then I saw the Audio icon on my menu bar. System Profiler is still reporting no audio device and also nothing shows when I go into audio in system preferences. HOWEVER, I do in fact have full system audio! I can hear the click when I move the audio slider and thing like the trash can exmptying. The problem is I have no audio from iTunes. It just clicks. Does anyone have ANY suggestions PLEASE? Lol.
