do i need to add a patch?

if so which one?

my specs: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...=reg_R1002_USEN

See here......

it says

waiting on root device

or something like that

Are you using eqUaTe's patch yet?

yup

I have just checked your MOBO specs link and the problem is that iATKOS is for Intel CPUs not AMD CPUs which your posted spec says your MOBO has......

i thought the r2 version was for amd?

It is not mentioned in the changelog here.......

alright thanks for wasting your time on me...do you know a good one for amd? ive already tried ideneb but ive tried everything and its not working...im thinking ipc next maybe?

With iDeneb v1.3 or v1.4 have you tried:

Partition your OS X HDD as MBR and format as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), and in Customize menu choose:

AMD Patch

Audio: No selection initially

Chipset: AppleNForceATA (if PATA DVDRW) or AppleNForceATATest (if SATA DVDRW)

Kernel: 9.4.0 StageXNU (Intel/AMD/SSE2/SSE3) or Voodoo 9.5.0

Network: Ethernet: No selection initially

Fix: AppleSMBIOS: AppleSMBIOS-27-MP

Video: No selection initially

Applications: Your choice

This way you can confirm basic system operation before installing needed audio, LAN and video kexts.......
