ScaredyCat
Hi, So I've put together a nice little hackintosh box that works well, I'm using it for iphone development but could easily be used as little low cost system - It's comparable to my Acer aspire 3690 WMLI laptop (which also runs OSX ) The motherboard is a Jetway JNC920-230-LF which has onboard Intel GMA950, full specs can be seen here: http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=12253&prp=915 ( http://tinyurl.com/cgjfea ) which is where the board came from, there's also a fairly complete system in the bundles section: http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=12385&prp=912 ( http://tinyurl.com/cvv363 ) basically a nice little box for just over 230 quid including dvd, hard drive and ram :) Pretty much everything works out of the box but there were a couple of things I needed to do. First things first, make sure you turn on 'Legacy USB' support in the bios (under the Integrated peripherals bios page iirc) otherwise usb keyboards don't work at boot Selected Audio as ALC662 Chipset ICHx Kernel Voodoo 9.5. Ethernet Realtek 1000 driver Didn't need to apply any of the special patches really at all. First of all although the audio chipset is the ALC662 the iDeneb 1.4 driver just wouldn't work at all, once I'd installed the AzaliaAudio.pkg the audio output was fine. The boot resolution seemed to be fixed at 1024x768 and since my monitor was 1280x1024 I tried SwitcherResX which didn't work. In the end I just edited the boot plist file /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist and added the key/value <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x1024x32</string> Once that was done everything works nicely.
