I've been trying to make/edit Boot-132 CDs for OSX instillation and am stumped.

At work, I have a new Intel-based Power Mac. At home, I have a dual-G5 PPC-based Mac. Both are loaded with Leopard 10.5.6. On the work machine, I can follow (one of the many sets of) the instructions on this board to edit kexts and create a bootable ISO file to burn with Disk Utility.

When I attempt the same thing at home, I cannot create a bootable Intel ISO CD on the PPC Mac. This is, on both machines, using the same command:

hdiutil makehybrid -o new.iso ...etc etc.

On reading the man page for hdiutil I get the impression that all the command parameters are correct, and the intimation is that this is doable on the PPC Mac. To rule out the possibility of hardware failure, I've even swapped the DVD-writer in the PPC with a known-good replacement. No change.

So...what's the deal and what am I missing?
