albireo Posted March 22, 2009 Share Posted March 22, 2009 I have a Asus P5 Deluxe, 4gb ram, Nivida 8800 GTS. I had a PERFECTLY running system with Ideneb 1.3 but needed 10.5.6 for Ilife 09. I backed everything up and did a fresh install of Ideneb 1.4 (10.5.6). The install went without incident and everything worked (or so I thought). Sound, video, wireless lan, everything. Then I tried plugging in a USB external hard drive. Just as soon as I plugged it in I get the black screen with the grey box saying to restart the computer. Completely crashed. Same thing happens with ANY USB drive, flash drive or whatever!!! keyboards and mice work great. Doesn't matter if I use a port in front or back. WHAT GIVES?? Please please help!! irPhunky Posted March 22, 2009 Share Posted March 22, 2009 I get this when i attempt to use the top two USB ports on my case - if i use the back 6 all is fine i assume i don't have the correct kext installed to support all my USB ports. Have no attempted to fix it yet as i can get away without using it for now. What's frustrating is that the iDeneb 1.3 had them all working perfectly, every time. Hope someone can suggest a fix!!
