DeadlyFoez
Hardware: Mobo: MSI P35D3 Platinum, P35 chipset, ICH9, Realtek ALC888 E6750 2.66 GHz CPU XFX 8800 GTS 640 MB Leo 10.5.6, Darwin 9.6.0 Kernel Problem: I am a noob to Mac, although I am quite the PC tech (my job). I have gotten everything else working, But I dont know where to start with trying to get sound working. I dont fully understand kexts or the terminal commands enough to get around without a walkthrough. Could someone please help me figure this out asuming that I dont have anything already installed that may need to be installed (ie. kexts or whatever). I've been reading everything in the forums, but it is getting over my head as to what I need and dont need. I'm confused with HDAPatcher and Azelia and if I need both or just one. I'm just so lost. I was lucky enough to get all my other hardware working fine. PLEASE HELP, or point me in the right direction. DeadlyFoez
Anyone? My install disk for leo 10.5.6 has drivers for almost everything in it. I have tried those drivers but end up with no sound. Do I also need to install some kind of ACPI driver or something. Is there maybe something else that I might need to install besides just the drivers for ALC888? System Profiler just says Intel High Definition Audio: Device ID: 0x1462356A Audio ID: 12 Available Devices: and thats it. Someone out there has got the solution. Everything else works on my hackintosh, ethernet, video, wireless. cnnn
Different computers have different layout even the CodeID is same so try different drivers if you cant compile your own. You'll finally get what you need. Good luck. BTW, I have driver for ALC888s. Search the forum if you need it. Hey, do you mind my asking if you have digital RCA output (SPDIF) output working with your ALC888s driver? also, if you wouln't mind, i'd love to get a hold of your AppleHDA.kext. My Asus M2N78-LA uses ALC888s codec, but I am stuck with a USB sound stick w/ L/R outputs... TIA Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/158598-need-help-with-alc888/#findComment-1117755 Share on other sites
