Neilll
I plucked up the courage to try OSx86 again, and acquired the iDeneb 10.5.5 ISO. Unfortunately, when booting into it, it hangs and -v gives me a "Still waiting for root device" error message. I'm not using an Nvidia chipset, but I applied the patch anyway, to no avail. I've tried numerous other tricks and possible fixes but nothing seems to solve the problem. I've attempted to boot without any of my hard drives attached, and tried putting a single hard drive and DVD drive on the same channel. I'm pretty sure all of my hardware is compatible, and the disk works perfectly on another system. I've tried disabling the SATA chipset in the BIOS, too (as all my hard drives are IDE). I'm just wondering if anyone has any other possible fixes. I remember encountering the same problem last time I tried OSx86 (using a Kalyway ISO, if I remember correctly) Specs: AMD Sempron 3300+ processor MSI K-8MMV motherboard (VIA chipset) 1GB RAM Single 40GB WDC IDE hard drive Sony DVD-RW drive Nvidia 7600GS graphics card (AGP) Any help is much appreciated!
