iPC 10.5.6 on AMD Phenom 940?

Hi Folks,

 

I have the following setup:

 

AMD Phenom II 940

OCZ 8Gb 1066 RAM

Abit A-N78HD with integrated GeForce 8200

Abit AirPace (Atheros AR5007X chipset)

SATA Hard Drive and DVD/RW's (I can tell you the exact models if its important...)

 

I tried iPC 10.5.6 on this setup, and the system froze almost straight after the boot loader, and I got a square with a circle and line through it. Is iPC the correct build I should be using for this machine, or should I try a different build? I will be buying OS X and don't mind making my own build if its needed.

 

I also have a spare NVIDIA 7300LE PCI-E card that I could throw in the machine if the integrated graphics is problem.

 

Finally - I am being unrealistic expecting OS X to boot on this kit? From what I have read, not many people use AMD gear.

 

Any recommendations welcome. The machine is a second build, so I can try whatever people want me to
