pgi947
hi everyone. After roughly 20 hours of messing with and tweaking my Leo 10.5.6 (iPC ppf5) install I finally got it to boot past the following errors: xxxx buffers xxxx headers (iPC ACPI fix) waiting on root disc (iPC UUID fix) Firewire errors (iPC firewire fix did not worked, removed firewire kexts from \sys\lib\extensions worked) Then booted with the following flags: cpus=1 -v -f -x (note it would not boot without safemode) Following this the OS booted perfectly, created account, had a little play about, it shut down fine, no hang ups. Tried to boot back into OSX but this time it wont even look at it, tried with a huge number of flag combinations, nothing, now it seems it wont even get as far as giving me an error, occasionally I see the apple logo, then it just shuts down the machine regardless. Prior to it wanting to shutdown all the time, I managed to get a waiting for root device error, and before that Panic <debugger>. Can anyone give me some advise on what my next course of action should be? fresh install new fixes? anything to go by would be great :-) My specs are: Intel Core2Quad 9300 2.5ghz (reported as 2.5ghz unknown) ASrock Penryn1600SLi-110db (nforce 650i northbridge, nforce 430i Southbridge, using applenforceATA.kext) 8gb DDR2 800mhz (reports full 8gb) Geforce 9800GTX+ 512mb (didn't install any drivers) 500gb SATA2 hard drive (idle) 500gb USB external hard drive (with OSX on it) liteOn dvdrw (IDE/PATA) USB mouse (working OOB) PS/2 Keyboard (working with iPC ps/2 fix) Using 9.4.0 XNU kernel A huge thank you in advance.
