agithacoli
Hey. I have been trying for about a week now to install leopard on my dell dimension 3000. I have been using ideben 10.5.6 I format the hard drive and install the os and everything is going well until it comes time to boot the os and it reaches the part where you can press f8 for startup options and once the timer runs out it reboots. And loops. It just reboots and reboots doing the same thing. So I updated the bios which didn't help. From what I have read I need to go into the bios and change sata to acpi. But I have no option for that in my bios. Any help is much appreciated. I am running a dell dimension 3000 with a pentium 4 3 ghz my bios is a03 80g hdd nvidia geforce 6200 pci. 256 mb ram the motherboard model number is e210882. Should I be using a more current os? Do I need to do something to my bios? Sorry if this question was already answered elsewhere. I looked for this topic and couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance! Legalize it! Edit~ I reinstalled and clicked on customize and added clicked the two boxes and now mac osx begins to load but freezes at the apple logo. When I start in diagnostic mode it says still waiting for root device. And I can't find anywhere in bios to change sata to acpi Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/157872-1056-on-dell-dimension-3000/ Share on other sites
cgimusic
I hate to bring up an old topic but it's better than creating a new one. I have the exact same problem. I am new to OSx86 and I am using "JaS OSx86 10.5.4 Client Server Intel SSE2 SSE3". Can anyone help me with this? Thanks to anyone who can Edit: FYI I am using an IDE hard drive.
