okay so i went with the ud3p since i was satisfied with the guide I was provided and heard so many success stories with this board. in fact the only problem I heard some people had was the system sleep feature didn't work right which should be turned off for video editing and audio editing anyways.

my question has to do with hardware. now from what I understand about computers is the only real thing that needs to be installed are the video and sound card drivers. which i didn't get a pci or usb sound card since most people got audio to work anyways. also I am getting a recording interface later this year which will work as a firewire sound card.

i know video cards usually work right out of the box, the driver software is what enhances the graphics. My question is does the ud3p package provide video drivers, meaning is that taken care of with a kext or something? Will I have to manually install the video drivers or is it most likely part of the package?

thank you

also what's the order of hardware install into the case?

You need to install graphics drivers. It's usually a modified kext or EFI String. If you have a prepatched DVD it normally comes with most graphics card drivers though!

It needs to be a compatible graphics card too. Luckily most new ATI and nVidia graphics cards work now. Just don't buy a GTX260/280 or any ATI 4000 series except 4850 & 4870.

I don't know what order, I would maybe do this: Install board into case, install CPU, install CPU Fan (only if push-pin type), install graphics card, install hard drives & optical drives.

If it's not a pushpin type CPU cooler you have to put it onto the motherboard before you install it in the case though. But these types of coolers are rarer these days.

thanks. im going through some bull {censored} with bank of america. as soon as i ran a 1000 dollar purchase it locked my account, and i had no idea why lol. so the company ran my card and it got denied. but it still showed up i had to call but this was later. before i called i started to experience issues on the apple store, when i bought the osx and keyboard. not knowing yet what was wrong i tried the apple purchase 3 times only getting denied responses. ATM machine wouldnt even let me pull. so later i called to confirm there was no weird activity once i found that that was the problem. heres my big problem. right now apple thinks my card is denied but three orders have been approved. so i hope if this is a problem apple will refund the other orders, for those who dont know bank of america they {censored} you. they {censored} you hard, good long and they smile. they just recently negged me 210 for nothing so i hope if the rest of those apple orders go through they will refund. i'd imagine they would being their customer service is a bit nicer. so i think i just payes like 1600 for my 1200 dollar hack. {censored} these mother {censored} ers.

i apologize, im pissed, i even used my social security number to verify this order and it drew a red flag. if i lose my card and someone uses it thats my own fault i dont need security this much up the ass {censored}, not even i can shop satifyingly

thanks for the info, i chose not open a new post for this because very few care, but hey i like to share my experiences so others can be warned.
