Audio clicking when using headphones

I Just finished install leopard 10.5.6 on my laptop and everything is working fine so far except the sound. I have a realtek alc268 and i used the taruga patcher to try and get audio working. That enabled the laptop speaks to work but when I try to use headphones all i get is a loud clicking noise. Is there any way to fix this? I also can't seem to change the volume level for the built in speakers, its either off or on. Thanks.
