copperboy
I upgraded my 7300GT to 9500GT in order to use CUDA in Windows. But there is no performance boost under Mac OS X 10.5.6, Xbench 1.3 just says these two cards are neck-to-neck. Results from Xbench 1.3, also attached in this post. ===7300GT=== Quartz Graphics Test 216.37 Line 169.96 11.32 Klines/sec [50% alpha] Rectangle 232.81 69.51 Krects/sec [50% alpha] Circle 192.53 15.69 Kcircles/sec [50% alpha] Bezier 171.95 4.34 Kbeziers/sec [50% alpha] Text 520.69 32.57 Kchars/sec OpenGL Graphics Test 187.35 Spinning Squares 187.35 237.67 frames/sec User Interface Test 256.02 Elements 256.02 1.18 Krefresh/sec ===9500GT=== Quartz Graphics Test 217.79 Line 171.41 11.41 Klines/sec [50% alpha] Rectangle 229.55 68.53 Krects/sec [50% alpha] Circle 191.56 15.62 Kcircles/sec [50% alpha] Bezier 176.58 4.45 Kbeziers/sec [50% alpha] Text 530.85 33.21 Kchars/sec OpenGL Graphics Test 164.03 Spinning Squares 164.03 208.08 frames/sec User Interface Test 250.75 Elements 250.75 1.15 Krefresh/sec And the pictures named "1680" and "1024" are the OpenGL Extensions Viewer's benchmark results. I didn't test this on 7300GT, can anyone post a 7300GT results here? Picture "Video" says I have 9500GT fully supported, with Hardware Acceleration and Quartz Extreme. Are these results normal with 9500GT ? I expect your answers. Thanks. copperboy
You have a powerful CPU. It makes me thinking that recent GPUs are optimized for Microsoft Direct X ONLY. For Mac, it's all the same. nVidia's PureVideo technology is invisible to Mac OS X; nVidia's CUDA technology is invisible to Mac OS X; OMG, what can I say besides "Hello, Leopard."
