mrfatboy
I have just built two hackintosh's. Both have different motherboards. GA-EP45_UD3R (iPC) and ASUS P5K-E (iDeneb). I am new to all of this and have always read in all the install guides that you need to set the SATA Mode to AHCI to make the Hackintoshs work. Well, I left everything in both BIOS as IDE and both system work fine. What am I missing? Do you really need to set bios to AHCI? Just as a quick reply to this, I could never get my install to work unless I had my bios set as AHCI. When it was set in IDE mode, the install would not read my DVD-RW at all. I might add that everything in my system is sATA. HD's and DVD.
