v420
I decided to make this forum in the hopes of consolidating some information on this site and especially this topic. When i type ipc 10.5.6 in the search field I noticed that it really does not find all topics with that listed so here we are. I hope that others will create similar topics, ie: THE iPC 10.5.6 FORUM - ETHERNET, etc but for today my only issue is audio. In the release notes it states "If your systems sound does not work een after installing the proper sound drivers there may be an issue with the system preferences." THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM that has nothing to do with kext it seems. When I installed iPC 10.5.6 the first time he was correct in saying "make sure that "Internal Speakers" is chosen instead of Headphones". WELL, I don't even have any speaker options, and IF I have the correct kext installed then I have no other suggestions. I am hoping you all might help as I'm sure I'm not alone. SPECS: MoBo: EVGA P5NSLI // INT. AUDIO: ADI AD1986a // Southbridge NVIDIA MCP 51 I added the south bridge specs because when running OSX86Tools that is what it listed as my driver ( ALC880 ) Kext installed: From the iPC Install Disk: AC97, AD1986, and ALC 880 from OSX86Tools. ** Are there any other kext that I should be trying ? ** Is there a universal sound patch for this Installer ( As I'm thinking may be the culprit ) ** Any other suggestions besides pi$$ off ?? Thanks, V420 SIDENOTE: I had working sound before upgrading. IE: In Kalyway 10.5.2 I had Nvidia Ac97 as my install choice EURIKA ! After 20 more minutes of searching I found this topic: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=36520 Just downloaded Skippys AzaliaAudio.pkg, installed, and rebooted ! Skippy.. YO DA MAN I still recommend people with AUDIO issues specifically with iPC 10.5.6 to continue to use this topic to post. HAVE A GREAT DAY ~ V420 AzaliaAudio.pkg.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/156179-the-ipc-1056-forum-audio/ Share on other sites
