markrandall
Hi Everyone, I'm suffering from problems that seem to be common, but I think people have managed to get around some way.... My Machine Spec is: ASUS M2N-VM DVI GeForce 7050PV Socket AM2 Onboard VGA 6 channel audio mATX Motherboard AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Socket AM2 (2.8GHz) L2 Cache 2MB 2 x 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 RAM 1 x IDE DVD-RW Drive 1 x 160gb Western Digital IDE HDD (Empty) USB Keyboard/Mouse I've disconnected all sata devices and disabled sata within the bios. First of all I attempted install leo4all v3. I could get no further than "Still waiting for root device" I tried booting using all of the different options (-v -f etc...) Then I decided to try with Kalyway 10.5.2 The install loads perfectly without the waiting for root message After playing around with different combinations within the Kalyway installation I finally got OSX installed. Then I needed to upgrade so followed several versions of upgrade instructions. Going from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3 gets 11% then the system hangs and will not reboot into osx so a complete reinstall is required. I then tried again using the script within terminal to make sure that the AppleIntelCPU.....kext file was deleted as soon as it appeared (In case that was causing the hang) but got exactly the same 11% then the system froze again. I tried another time, using the 10.5.6 combo update as one topic said you could do. That gets 33% then freezes. This is where I gave up with Kalyway. Next I tried to install iPCosX 10.5.6, this cause me the exact same problem as leo4all, gets halfway through loading the installer then get "Still waiting for root device"! Does anyone have any suggestions? The files i'm using are just the standard iso downloads burnt at 4x from within vista. I have read about iso files needing patching before being burnt to CD for some systems, but can't find out too much about that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. markrandall
I am not trying to install to a partition? The Disk is set to active so I don't understand why you advise that?
