ericeod
While trying to get my system to recognize the 512MB nVidia 8800gt card (it was seeing it at 256) I deleted the NVKush kext file without backing up the kext file. Brilliant. Now the machine boots past the grey apple screen and then the display shuts down. I've tried setting the mach_kernel rd=disk0s1 -v -F "Graphics Mode"="1024x768x32@75" trick to load the generic graphics driver but can't get it to work. The only other thing I can think of doing is to put the kext onto a jump drive and then installing it from console from the jump drive to the extension folder, but I'm not sure where to even begin that approach. i.e. How to target the jump drive through console. Tried booting into safe mode as well with no luck. Also tried booting from the iDeneb 1.4 disk and running time machine but it just locks up with a spinning wheel. I also have a backup of the OS as a carbon copy cloner iso file just incase anyone knows a solution that I could use with that approach. Would love some help with this. Thanks! I had one new idea. I forgot but I do still have the NVKush pkg file on my desktop. Seems like if I could run the pkg file from terminal then it would fix the issue. How can I run a pkg file? ericeod
Alright, got it working. Kind of a round about way but I installed another version of iDeneb on a different drive, then ran the CCC to restore to the backup.
