Doraemon
Here's my hardware: MB: eVGA nVidia 780i CPU: Core 2 Quad Q9450 HDD: SATA Seagate "Baracuda" GPU: eVGA nVidia 8800 GTS RAM: Kingstone 667 1gigx2 Optical Drive: ASUS SATA x22 I installed iPC PFF5 using the Voodoo kernel, previously I tried using the XNU kernel. I've heard that with my same hardware (exactly) there has been success with iPC PFF5, however I don't know which drivers I select... Latest boot attempt from hdd returned: "Still waiting for root device..." Any help would be most appreciated! Thank you, Doraemon Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/155804-evga-780i-and-ipc-1056-pff5/ Share on other sites
mrbonkers
did you install ApplenForceATA? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/155804-evga-780i-and-ipc-1056-pff5/#findComment-1096320 Share on other sites
Doraemon
did you install ApplenForceATA? I did and it boots, albeit slowly. (Some stall involving the DNSresponder, though after about ten minutes it boots.) I just reinstalled with: Voodoo, AppleNForceATA, and the DIMM fix. The system boots with networking. No audio, no graphical drivers (I can't set my screen res so the resolution is messed up), otherwise it's working. Given my video card can someone suggest a video driver that might work; if I have two cards would selecting the dual card nvidia nject allow me to boot with both video cards? Also, should the Azalia audio driver work with my mb? Thanks to everyone who helped me work through this! Doraemon
I am now writing this from OS X. I was able to install and boot using iPC 10.5.6 PFF5. Networking, audio, and video all work. However, I have one lingering problem: my optical drive does not appear in the hardware list. Any suggestions? grahamgo
Forgive me asking, but is Universal OSx86 Installer still current and supported? I ask because I have installed the app and have tried to use Uinstaller to download more plugins. But I get an error message Applescript error - System events got an error, cant get XML file....... and the download server status show a red spot. I have searched and have found several other people reporting the same symptom but cannot find anyone replying with an answer.
