I have searched this forum and have found many people with this problem but no solution. I have installed iDeneb 10.5.6 (default kernel) and 99% works except for Shutdown & Sleep.

Problems

1) Sleep. When the system sleeps the screen goes black. The fan & lights still run. I cannot wake the system by mouse or keyboard.

2) Shutdown. When I use shutdown, the screen goes black. The fan & lights still run. If I press the power button for 3 seconds the system finally fully shuts down.

I tried installing iDeneb 10.5.6 using the following options separately. It still does not work.

1) Poweroff_Fix

2) Poweroff_OpenHaltRestart

I have also tried the following bios settings.

USB Legacy Disabled

C1E Support Disabled

Power Management s1 & s3

My system:

Q6600

Asus P5K-E

4gig Ram

Nvidia 8600GT 512meg

Does anybody know of a fix or have a suggestion? I'm so close 

I have the same system so if you didn't fix this so far maybe you want to take a look here :

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1004231

than go here: http://www.superhai.com/darwin.html read the readme for VoodooUSBEHCI download and install the kext , repair permessions and restart

but since you have a GT card, try first the "Jean Bird" trick here : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1004881
