OSXander
I've been googling all day now, but I can't find how to fix this. I have successfully installed a retail leopard 10.5.6 on my computer, done all the necessary kext installs/hacks to get fully working sound/LAN/graphics, but when I try to download a large file (or a large torrent with uTorrent, for instance), it freezes and brings up the grey "You need to restart your computer." message. I've tried some memory fix attempt and all that did was stop me from booting up altogether, but I'm back to where I was. My rig: - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz (Forgot model number, but is codenamed Conroe) - Gigabyte N650SLI motherboard - 4 x 1GB 800MHz DDR2 RAM - nForce ethernet - Retail Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.6 - nVidia GeForce 8600GT 512MB Alex
Synaesthesia
It's obviously an ethernet issue - solution: buy a compatible PCI Network card http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=105479 (List of working Network cards)

Synaesthesia
Or just buy the apple usb Ethernet and be done with it.That's certainly an option. PCI network card is cheaper & faster though.
